Is it true? Are we really about to start another New Year? I’m still not used to writing 2011 yet! The older, er…more mature, I get the faster time seems to pass. I heard an explanation for this phenomenom on the radio this morning. When we are very young, say about four years old, one year is 25% of our life. Later, one year might only be 2% of our life. So each year becomes a smaller and smaller percentage of the time we have lived.
This year, 2011, is one that I am relieved to be done with. Although it had it’s great moments- becoming a grandparent for the first time- it also had it’s times of trouble. My wife Betty spent almost three weeks in the hospital during the month of October. Seeing someone I love suffer was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But thanks be to God, she is up and about and ready to come back to work right after the New Year’s holiday.
While she was in the hospital I can remember feeling uncertain at times, but never despairing. I didn’t feel like some kind of super spiritual guy, but just knew everything was going to be all right. God has been so faithful it just felt natural to trust Him. I hope you have that kind of assurance as well. Outlook Christian Church is a great place to get to know God. I hope you will.
See you Sunday!
